We had a drive thru graduation today at FUMC!
April 23, 2020
Good Morning, I wanted to give an update related to opening the center etc. The decision to open the center will be made when the church will be able to reopen. I know that schools are closed for the remainder of the year, but we are going to go with the church’s decision as to when would be a safe time to open. We will get through the next two weeks and see how things stand. If at that time things are such that we can open we will. I have asked that the staff have some workdays before the children come in to clean, and make decisions about how things will be done when the children come back in. Hopefully this will enable a safe return to our routine.
The 4K students will not have class through May. I hope that they will have the summer program. When we do open up, we will make plans to have daycare for those children as well.
I wish that I could give more specific info, but right now things are still not very clear.
I really miss everyone and pray for the health and safety of you all. We will get through this and hopefully it will be soon😊. Take care and stay in touch! Debbie

August 2019
We spent July celebrating birthdays, playing and working to stay cool. Tiffany Lewellen, her husband Richie and son Eli welcomed a new baby brother, Liam, into their family. When Tiffany returns to work, Liam will be coming too! Congratulations to the Lewellen family.
Earlier this month, students in the 4K class were able to take a trip to the Discovery Place in Rockingham. They were able to play on a fire truck, fix a race car, play in a tree house and do lots of fun and educational activities. We have included several pictures of our children enjoying this trip.
Our 4K class will leave on July 31st ready to begin kindergarten. Our new class will begin on August 19th. Linda Cardenas will continue to teach the 4 year olds. We are excited that Shonna Heffner and Sandy Odom will be working as assistants in this class. Shonna has been working with our center for 6 years. Sandy recently retired after 30 years of teaching with the Marlboro County School District. We are so excited to have this team working with our PreK and look forward to a great year!
Many thanks to all for the love and support that our center receives everyday!
