Frances Kirkwood Graham, age 90, died on Thursday, June 16, 2022. Born in Bennettsville, S.C., Mrs. Graham was the daughter of the late O’Neill Kirkwood and Ruth Hargrove Kirkwood. She was a graduate of Converse College. In addition to her work as a church musician, she taught high school math and music for many years. She was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Graham was preceded in death by her husband, Charles McGirt Graham, Jr.

Mrs. Graham is survived by her four children, Virginia Fowler (Leith) of Bennettsville, Laura Graham of Mt. Pleasant, Charles Graham of Columbia, and Kirkwood Graham of Mt. Pleasant, three grandchildren, Ruth Lawson Fowler of Chapin, O’Neill Graham of Mt. Pleasant, and Ellie Fowler of Bennettsville.

A private graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be directed to Epworth Children’s Home, Converse University’s Petrie School of Music, or a charity of your choice.
