Jean “Tuck” Breeden Usher, age 81, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, in Charleston, SC.
m She was born in Bennettsville, SC, the daughter of the late Welcome Eugene Breeden and Anne Tucker Breeden. She graduated from Bennettsville High School in 1958 and Columbia College in 1962. She was married for 60 years to her childhood sweetheart, Bruce Warren Usher Sr. They resided in Charleston, SC for 34 years after 13 years in Summerville, SC. She was an elementary school teacher and spent 16 years in preschools where she loved her “little threes.”
She is survived by her husband Dr. Bruce Warren Usher, Sr.; three sons, Dr. Bruce Warren Usher, Jr., Raleigh, NC, Lee Breeden Usher, Holly Springs, NC, and Christopher Brooks Usher, Mt. Pleasant, SC; three daughters-in-law, Laura Usher, Diane Usher, and Shelley Usher; grandchildren, Ann Tally, Camryn, Emilia Usher (Bruce), Connor, Zachary, Julia Usher (Lee), and Chandler Usher (Chris); niece and nephew Gail Lunn of Murrells Inlet SC, and Arthur Moore of Florence SC.
She was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Gail Moore.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at McCall Cemetery in Bennettsville, SC.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
