Mrs. Hamilton was the consummate homemaker and entertainer always ready to welcome a crowd – the more, the merrier. Her home was decorated to perfection – especially for the Christmas holidays where she delighted in watching the eyes of    little ones light up as they explored “winter wonderland”. She was an excellent cook, floral gardener, and decorator. Her hobbies included fishing at Cherry Grove Beach (the most beautiful place on earth), exercising, playing bridge, bird watching and watching sporting events on TV. Mrs. Hamilton also enjoyed traveling and exploring the world with her husband. They often included their grandchildren and others in their many adventures.

Mrs. Hamilton was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville where she served as a Trustee, a member of the Altar Guild, Administrative Committee and Chairman of the Parsonage Committee. She thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Church Hospitality Committee and could be found on most Wednesday evenings in the family life center kitchen preparing delicious meals for all who could attend.

Out of her love of flowers, she also served as President of the Garden Gate Garden Club. She worked tirelessly to schedule and offer a wide variety of entertaining programs, entice and foster new members and create a Garden Gate yearbook. She also spear-headed many community beautification projects such as “Memory Lane”.

Mrs. Hamilton devoted time to her civic duties by serving on the Marlboro County Transportation Development Committee and the Bennettsville Downtown Development Association.

Left to cherish the memory of Consulla Hubbard Hamilton are her husband of 67 years, O’Neal Hamilton, son Gordon Hamilton (Beverly), daughter Kimberly Hamilton Bundy (Billy), grandsons Neal Hamilton (Jen) and Will Bundy, granddaughter Katie Bundy (fiancé Robert Hartman) and great-grandson, States Hamilton as well as numerous friends across the state. Mrs. Hamilton was predeceased by her brother, John Keith Hubbard.

Burroughs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
