Bennettsville
Mrs. Sarah Hubbard Bristow, widow of William Judson Bristow, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 after an illness at Morrison Manor in Laurinburg. She was 95 years old.
Mrs. Sarah was born in Clio, SC, on August 7, 1925 to the late Thaddious Bruce and Sallie Covington Hubbard. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville. She retired as a stenographer for Midgley Agency after 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, NASCAR, tennis, swimming, water skiing, and traveling. She was also an avid Gamecock fan.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory: sons, William “Bill” Judson Bristow and Nelson Walser Edens, III; grandchildren, Luke Bristow, James Bristow, Erin Edens, and Ashley Edens; 5 great grandchildren and many other beloved family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents listed above; brother, Bruce Hubbard; sisters, Elsie Caldwell and Alta Gibson.
A funeral service will be held 4pm, Sunday, March 28, 2021 at First United Methodist Church in Bennettsville, officiated by Revs. Taylor Coates and Fred McDaniel, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A visitation will be held from 3-4 pm in the gathering room at the church.
