Mrs. Elizabeth Beatrice McDuffie Matthews, 93, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at McLeod Health Cheraw.

Born January 14, 1927 in Marlboro County to the late Charlie Arthur, Sr. & Nellie Dailey McDuffie. Elizabeth was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bennettsville. She worked many years with the Marlboro County Administrative Office as the payroll clerk. She enjoyed playing bridge, crossword puzzles, reading, sewing, gardening but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents listed above, a sister, Doris McDuffie Mills.

She leaves to cherish her memory, stepdaughter, Donna M. Petty; brothers, C.A. McDuffie, Jr. (Jo Ann), Fletcher H. McDuffie (Betty); sister, Virginia M. Williamson; special nieces, Terry Williamson & Carol Beyer; and other nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at First United Methodist in Bennettsville. A visitation will take place from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the church.
